By R Rajagopalan

It is a rare moment for Rajya

Sabha MP Tiruchi Siva when none other than Vice-President Hamid Ansari

clapped and sang ‘happy birthday to you’ today on his 54th birthday

and that too in an aeroplane flying at an altitude of 35,000 feet.

“I felt privileged when the honourable Vice-President sang ‘happy

birthday to you’ for me. It is really a rare occasion for anyone,”

Siva said.
Siva is part of the delegation of Vice-President who began his

two-nation six-day tour of Czech Republic and Croatia today.

The three-time MP from Tamil Nadu cut a two kilo cake onboard which

was brought by the Air India staff in presence of Ansari, his wife

Salma, Minister of State for Communication Sachin Pilot, his

Parliamentarian colleagues Prasanta Chatterjee, Maya Singh and

Mohammed Azharuddin and other officials

“I will remember this birthday forever,” a visibly pleased Siva, who

belongs to DMK,
