PM BUNGLES SPEECH WITH STRAIN ON HIS FACE

From Our Delhi Bureau NEW DELHI:
A visibly tired Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Mondaybungled, misreading words from the prepared inaugural speech hedelivered at an international conference here on "Towards a World Freeof Nuclear Weapons."Sources in the Prime Minister's Office were, however, quick to pointout that he had undergone a cataract operation just a few days ago andhence it was the eye strain that resulted in spelling out some wordswrongly. He misread "possession" as "profession" and "want" as "went"and looked confused at his folly.Though looking tired, he, however, went around meeting the delegates, answering questions with full clarity, at the tea hosted after theinaugural session. He looked cheerful subsequently at the Hyderabad House where he hosteda lunch for the delegates. The Hotel Maurya conference was telecast live and a such many viewershad noticed the Prime Minister's problem in delivering the speech.
