DMK MPs who were prominent
in Nira Radia tape conversations, are being relieved
from the DMK party organisational positions in the wake of
allegations on 2G corruption and their frequent conversations,
"unauthorised claims " on DMK participation in Union Cabinet
in 2009. DMK is expected to announce its decision
in early next week.
DMK has taken the Nira Radia tape issue
seriously according to a highly placed DMK source.
This is the least political action that DMK can take time being
to send a message - that DMK also taken action. But major
signal to AICC is to continue the DMK Congress alliance in
the April 2011 state assembly elections.
Karunanidhi held consultations with senior leaders of DMK
Due to his fragile health, according to source, he gets
emotional and irritating on being convyed about the tape
controversies. Dayanidhi Maran and his brother kalanidihi
Maran spent two hours with Karunanidhi recently. Similarly
MK Alagiri and MK Stalin both spent more than six hours
with their father. Three or four decisions were taken
by DMK leadership. To distance from A Raja, but not
