sends SOS to Delhi

PRIME MINISTER TO BAIL OUT
ANDHRA FISCAL CRUNCH

Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh coming to the
rescue of Andhra Pradesh to pull it out of financial crunch
following an SOS from Governor  ESL Narasimhan.

To evaluate the quantum of financial assistance 
Dr Singh has asked Narasimhan to discuss with him
on May 11, in Delhi. 

Highly placed sources in PMO confirmed that 
three pages communication to Prime Minister
from Governor ESL Narasimhan has basically
focussed on financial crunch of Andhra Pradesh.

Prime Minister Dr Singh has understood the
focus of ESL Narasimhan note on AP fiscal position.

Dr Singh entrusted to a group of
Secretaries to Government of India to assist
and render remedies to the state of Andhra
Pradesh to come out the financial crisis.

Governor ESL Narasimhan has stated that popular schemes
like Aarogyashri-Indiramma are facing acute fiscal crunch.
Though these are political schemes, drawn without a 
structured planning, has resulted in Andhra Pradesh
getting into a major financial defict.

Governor ESL Narasimhan suggested that a complete
revisit of these popular schemes is the need of the hour.

ESL Narasimhan also suggested that maximum benefit
to the people  to be derived without dismantling
the popular schemes.
