Mamta Banerjee mostly present in Central Hall.
PRANAB-MAMATA TIFF OVER BENGAL POLLS
From Our Delhi Bureau
Mamta Banerjee mostly in the past week was present in the Central Hall and not keen to atttend
both the houses. A fight broke out between Pranab Mukherjee and Mamata Bannerjee here on Friday on the issue of seat sharing in the upcoming West Bengal Assembly elections.
Mukherjee lost temper and shouted at Mamata and leaders of both the parties were shocked to find Mamata shouting back and even threatening to walk out of the meeting. "My Trinamul Congress will contest on its own. We don't exist at your mercy," she asserted.
Not to be cowed down, Mukherjee shouted back that she should not forget that she is dealing with a national party. Keshab Rao, an Andhra Rajya Sabha member who is incharge of West Bengal affairs in Congress, intervened and quickly ended the meeting, saying "we better meet some other time with cool minds as the bigger challenge before both parties is to put an end to the Left rule."
